Default Wheel Suggestions

Looking for some budget wheel suggestions, preferably 16's. What I've got right now are OEM TJ MOAB Rubricon 16x8's with 5" of backspacing that the previous owner had installed. They rub balancing weights off on the sway bar connecting rods. Wanting to stick with a 16 and right now am running 30" tires (upgrading to 31's) but I'm really wanting to get the rubbing issue fixed.

Cragar makes a soft 8 in silver if you don't like the black.

I have Fuel Rovolvers on my XJ. Check my build for pics.

I like Method Double Standards. They look awesome. They make them in a few different colors. Heres a link. http://www.wheelwarehouse.com/m-208-...ce-wheels.aspx

When the inner barrel if the wheel is too small the weights will hit the caliper. I see it happen a lot.

Thanks for the heads up... I'll check clearance on mine before I buy tires for them.... I've just seen so many people running them I figured it wasn't an issue... I guess they need to be selective on where they put the weights.

I'm running Rubicon Express sway bar discos for their 3.5" system.

Yes running 15" Gamblers with 5.5" of bs for now... Moabs are 5" of bs... still too much bs if you ask me. I think 4-4.5 is perfect. Clear the inside w/o sticking out.

I run 1" hubcentric wheel spacers to 'fix' the stance of 15" x 8" Ravines.
Should work for your Moabs too.

I don't see a point in running spacers. Adds unneeded strain, plus I really don't like the Moabs, they were just on the jeep when I bought it and I fix things the previous owner screwed up as I go a long (took me 4 years to get around to fixing the lift).

I don't think 4.5" backspacing adds 'unneeded strain'. That is where I am with 1" spacers.
A lot of guys run 3.75".

The spacer itself adds strain, shear, and moment to not the wheel, but the hubs. It puts different shear and normal forces on lugs and face of the hub that you don't see nearly as drastic of a change in when you change backspacing without the spacers.

Its also a fact, I have guys that have offered me $150 a piece per wheel. 5 Moabs, $225 a piece when they were new… even if I could sell them for $100 a piece then I'm still saving money since the wheels I'd be going to are more than likely going to be under $100 a piece.

If you spend the money to buy good billet spacers/adapters they are fine. They are like 150 for a set of 2 so most get the ebay specials for half the price. Those cheap ones are lower grade aluminum and will fail over time.I have seen 3 cars myself where a spacer/adapter sheered off the lugs losing the wheel.Best one i seen the lugs walked around opening up the holes they are in and just spun when i tired to take the lug nuts off. That one i had to cut the rim off to get it off.
