Some new black steel wheels would actually be cheaper than quality spacers.

This is true. Plus you can sell your old wheels and make it even cheaper.

You can run "GOOD QUALITY" spacers but there is maintenance involved. Like stated above it would be cheaper to just buy new wheels and sell your old ones unless you really like the stock ones. If that's the case run spacers but use locktight and check torque often. They can and will work loose.

You could put a set of after market LCA's on and not worry about spacers. I don't think they should be much more money than spacers.

A set of WJ lower control arms may give you the needed clearance to keep from rubbing.

I have 2" spacers and haven't had a problem. I just drove 8 hours on them and they're fine.

spacers are fine as long as they're hub centric and torqued. I'm also the guy who goes behind my work every 1,000 miles for regressing and tightening though... So I'm maintenance happy lol

Once you figure in the cost of 5 wheels + mounting and balancing vs the 2 spacers he needs for front wheel clearance, it isn't even close.
