it means that the spacer is located based on the hub itself. It would have to be machined to be located by the hub alone.
For your XJ you need to use a lug-Centric spacer that positions the spacer based on the bolt pattern.

Hub-centric are usually more expensive than lug-centric. He's right, the jeep doesn't need hub-centric.
I've used 3 sets of hub-centrics on other cars. They work fine. Got off ebay for what it's worth.
