Default wheel backspacing questions

well i bought a lifted cherokee a couple weeks ago ('96 sport, 3 inch rustys lift, cragar softs and 31 inch goodyear A/T) and i have a real bad rubbing problem when turning full lock, not on the fenders though! problem is i dont know what my wheel backspacing is. should four inches be enough? if it isnt then would these work: http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchan...ry_Code=ALLIED ?

if i were to get these how much do you think i could get for my cragar soft 8s? they are in good condition.

thanks,
joma

Hmmm...I've got almost the same setup on mine! '96, 3" lift, Cragar Soft 8's w/4" bs...the only difference is that I've got 30's. I have no issues whatsoever. I was hoping to move up to 31's or 32's next time I need tires. Guess I should pay attention to see what others say about your setup.

Pull a rim and measure your backspacing.

I doubt they are. If they are really 31s you shouldn't rub.

I would expect less.

You can get rims with proper backspacing for $55 each new.

But $200 OBO is fair.

What does it say on the tires? Depending on the rim stock bs is around 5-5.5 I had my 31x10.5 on stock rims with very little rubbing on full lock, then ran them with 1.25" spacers with zero rubbing stick out pretty good too, now im runming the same tires just on rims with 3.5" bs and they stick out alot but with flat flares they look badass. any rim with 4.5 or less back spacing you shouldnt rub. U can sell cragers for 100$-200$ used. U can by steelies with proper back spaceing all 4 for some were around 240$ shipped to ur door. U can battle rubbing with rims, spacers, lcs's and washers.
