Does it still require a steering stabilizer?
With the cav fab kit

As long as everything else is perfect you should be fine without one. Track bar, alignment, tire balance, wheel bearings etc

Not running one and no issues. I also did ball joints when I did steering and my bushings are fine. It's optional

I recently went with the Currie Currectlync and a JKS trackbar because I had a limited budget and couldn't stand how sloppy my steering was. Definite improvement over the WJ set-up I was previously running.

Yea he meant ZJ. For the money new I wouldn't go Currie and keep the Y link steering.

Uhh yeah ditto. I didn't know one could be on a budget and go with a currie system

Anyone experiencing dead spots in their steering with the Cav or B.Lee systems? I was thinking about even saving more money and building my own steering. Really isn't that hard after looking at it.

I have a minimal amount of loose play. Even a hair of movement steers the jeep but it's small enough it doesn't feel like anything, only can tell going straight. I blame my 29 year old steering box more then steering. Durango box one day for me

What's your budget and overall goal?

You could go as far as a full WJ setup, to something cheaper (but still not bad by any means) like the CavFab.

I do have to laugh at those shooting down the aluminum tie rod. As far as material, if you have the budget, 7075-T6 is fantastic.

If you don't think 7075-T6 AL would hold up...you don't spend much time playing with the 1 ton crowd.

I have 2.25" x 3.8" wall DOM lowers on my buggy.

Want to guess what I plan on upgrading to?

I'll be going with the WJ swap on the Mild DD XJ I'm building. More money...yes, but far better benefits overall.

I can't find 2.25 material locally. My lowers will eventually be 2.5.

It looks like in every picture with the over the knuckle setup, that the heim going to the top of the passengers spindle is almost maxed out at ride height, even if it has high misalignment spacers. I can just imagine when the entire front end drops, that there is some binding going on. Maybe someone has some pictures of both wheels off the ground to verify?

So that brings up some questions.

1 - to the people who are running these setups, are you using a drop pitman? If so, what drop? I believe that would help the angle but not fully solve it.

2 - do any companies make a setup with a uniball in place of a heim on that specific corner? To me it seems like you could have the uniball sit flat at ride height if done right.

Edit: After looking at more pictures, this may only be an issue with 6"+ lifts. But still a concern on full droop if you have a lot of down travel. Lift size wouldn't matter at that point.
