I've decided to go with dirt bound front and rear frame plates insted of making my own. That will save me time ican spend toward making the bumpers

3/16 is pretty solid. I opted for 3/16 bumpers along with premade stiffeners as well to save time. good call in my book, but plates on both sides and bottom of the frame rails is the strongest way to go. so if you get extreme in the future then you can add your own later

Yeah I wasn't planning extreme but I wanted full plates sides and bottom. That way when I cage it I. Won't ever have to worry if it's going to hold up or something like that

Sounds like a solid plan, I was also considering making my own stiffeners but didn't seem worth it, a sheet of 3/16 is about 120 around here, plus my time and labor, or I can go but a full set for just under 200 bucks and the only labor would be install

Yeah I was trying to order dirt bound front and rear set but their site wouldn't take my order so I'm getting the rough stuff center braces first. Time to borrow the big *** jack stands and fill the bottle

eh. yeah 2-3" stitches are ok too. no theres no point in having it fully welded. just go back over with some sort of sealant or something to fill it so water doesnt get in. Idk. I had trouble with the ovals. if you come up with a good technique let us know
