Better make sure they're geared the same, especially if you have 4WD....why would you do an axle swap if you have no idea what you're swapping out? You might have gotten lucky, but why risk it? Verify what you have and what you want to put in, or you will have a VERY costly mistake on your hands.

Not trying to be a dick, but what did you do to verify? Have you cracked open both covers and counted the teeth on the gears? Just because it's an 8.25 doesn't mean it's the same....
