what shocks to order asap. 5.5 RE on LA's
Looking to order a set of shocks and have everything here to finish my build. I have rc longarms(450 shipped New...had too!), 5.5 re coils, a winch and bumper out front, 33/12.50 Cooper STT' s. I have 4" leafs out back with 1.5-2 shackle and will be adding hd shackle mount/ whatever it takes to level with front. I am trying to decide what shocks. I have 400 this minute for either 5100's, fox 2.0s, or the front 5160's to start. My jeep is just a nice shape toy. No shelf queen I want it to be fully capable but it will really only be used a few times a year and mainly on trips to forest/trail events. I CAN'T STAND the way it rode with whitebodies before all this new stuff and am not cheaping out for this. Now my main problem is lengths. Do I want 4-6" 5100's or 6.5-8" ones? I hear the re 5.5 is pretty tall(have winch and bumper),same dilemma with Fox 2.0. And then I thought about doing just 5160 til next payday for the 14" Peter look but I only see them in 4" lift? I know I should measure but I want the stuff here and now. Somebody has to be running similar setup. Thanks

Welcome to the forum. SeriousOffroad is the perfect guy to ask this to, he's the In-house RE expert/dealer. Just send him a PM or check him out in our vendor section.

Measure and decide how you want your suspension to work. I run shocks for a 6.5" lift on 4.5", but I'm setup for oodles of droop and not so much up travel. Look up the measurements on google for compressed and extended shock lengths and go from there.
