What mods should I do?
I have about a $600 budget and want some input on what I should spend it on.
I'm thinking maybe:
muffler
CAI
front bumper
steering upgrade
skids
Any other suggestions? Which mods should be highest priority?
Thanks
**I do have a general idea of what I want, but for the sake of the forum I thought it would be good to get other input so this thread can be used as a reference for guys/gals in this situation in the future. And maybe there's something I haven't thought of...**

I'm in the same boat right now.
I have the lift and tires, everything else is stock so what's next for me is rear bumper with swing away tire rack/ front bumper/ roof rack/ exhaust/ and eventually regearing.
Maybe getting some new light bulbs or slightly tinting the windows

If your planning on wheeling it.
Quality tow points.
Transmission and transfer case skid.
Lunch Box Locker
Maybe a spacer & shackle lift.
Save the rest to put toward a set of decent tires.
Mall crawler.
Cat back exhaust.
Spacer & Shackle lift.
Save the rest for a good set of AT tires.

agreed
agreed. I smashed my glass pack after a few weeks. cut it off and welded a turndown tip. sounds 10x better than the glasspack. it's loud but not wake-the-neighbors loud. I like it

if you are getting over all the obstacles on the trails you wheel and your engine is running well then dont buy any "mods." save that money for when it breaks or you're ready to go bigger.
but for what it's worth, here's a list of stuff I wish I had gotten before I started crawling: ROCK SLIDERS
and middle frame stiffeners. got both sliders and stiffeners now

You can do a lot with $600 or you could blow the whole $600 on one mod. It really depends on what you ultimately want to improve.
If all you want is some more power and street manners an edge trailjammer kit is a good investment.
If all you want is some looks and sound get a cheap glasspack and either bumpers or some fender flares.
If you want to improve off road driving get a locker, sway bar disconnects, 3" springs and either shackles or shackle relocation kit and cheapie shocks can set you up for larger tires later on.
If you want to improve the comfort a nice sound system would be a good investment.
If it were me I would bank the money until I was able to get what I really want or a nest egg in case the XJ breaks.
