If they cant figure out its a 4.0 liter inline 6 in a jeep cherokee. i wouldnt deal with them lol. Its probably L6 even though thats really not how they are referenced.

Cherokees do come with 4 cylinders, so id guess the L4 is the 4 banger.

First off, you have an engine, not a motor.
Secondly, it's the L6. As in, "Linear 6" or "inLine 6"

That means, GM/General Motors, would be GE/General Engines.

Ford Motor Company, would be Ford Engine Company..

Are you serious? Do you not know the difference between a motor and an engine or are you just being a troll?

He's saying the two are interchangeable in a general sense and it's not worth the effort trying to show off on an Internet forum by nitpicking. If you want to stir the pot try starting a thread in Off Topic.

Do not be concerned if anyone uses a different word as "engine" or "motor".

This is not a English Lesson forum, or a Spelling Lession forum.

We are here to enjoy our Hobby, and share information.....

Have a good day....

Yes I do know the difference between a motor and an engine.

One of my engines was produced in 1936, (Dodge), and it has a

"cranking motor", (starter, 6 volt).

American English has always been misused and abused.

We-uns here in the hills are sum big abusers of talking, for sure,,
