If memory serves the AX-15 only came with the NP231 transfer case.
For the NP231 there's a wide chain kit and of course a slip yoke eliminator.
If you are into rock crawling you can change the gear ratio in the case itself to improve performance.
I'm sure there's more but this is what I can remember off the top of my head.
The 231's are very durable in stock form and while some people modify them you will find a lot of people on here running stock 231's.

the SYE is an obvious one
I'm just talking about internals
chain and gear ratio change sounds cheap and easy to me
but if its pretty good stock, thats all I needed to know
thanks

generally speaking it will be the 231 but double check the tag or even easier way to tell is the shift bezel [231 = 2H-4H-N-4L] [242 = 2H-4FT-4PT-N-4L], the reason i suggest double confirming is because i have come across ax15/np242 combos in the wrecker at times.
242 ya have a whole load of jack **** all for aftermarket support
231 has decent
-SYE
-Teralow 4:1
-Teraflex 2 Low
-Novak Z-Gate eliminator[shifter]
-Cable shifters
-HD chain [fullsize dodge]
-6-planetary upgrade
im sure theres more just google NP231 mods and theres a lot of support out there for this case
