what would be better control arm drop brackets with shorter control arms or longer adj control arms and no drop brackets ?

How much lift?
If your considering drop brackets for the 3" lift listed in your sig...

Save your money, you don't need drop brackets.

do the drop brackets, your at 6 inches right? ive had both the drop brackets are an awesome upgrade!!!! i had stock arms with drop brackets at 6.5 on my 1998 i just sold.

3" lift AND 3" spacers?
Yeah....you need either DB's or LA's.

this. come on dan man. ditch the blocks, ditch the spacers, skip the brackets, go straight to long arms and get this thing done right.

I do plain to a full 6in coil and a new rear axle with no blocks but its long arms or beef up the front and get a front locker So im not sure what im going to do yet

beef up the front and get a locker. shouldn't even be a tough decision

i agree. skip the BS and get properly set up long arms. you are ready.

X3 I dont get how you can even fully enjoy driving your XJ with 6" of lift and long arms. Handling and ride quality is like night and day.
