Warn hub lock nut trick

https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...c000e5ff4.jpegSo I’ve got the Warn hub kit on my dana 30. Love it but every time I check the bearings the lock nut is finger lose! Looked a little closer at it today and realized the grooves line up when tightened so I could get a 1/16” cotter pin in there!

I have done similar, in that I drilled thru the outer lock nut, threaded it, and put set screw in, so that once they were tight, I just tightened the setscrew to lock them together.

That’s a great idea!

Just make sure you use the finest thread setscrew you can find so you have as many threads as possible in the outer lock nut.
