Default Wanting to install budget boost on top of 6.5 in lift in front

Ey guys and gals I am wanting to install some coil spacers on top of my rough country 6.5 inch coils.

Wondering what's the best way to do this??

Will I need spring compressors?

Can I do this in my driveway or will I need to use my friends lift??? Thanks in advance!!

Are you on a short arm or long arm lift?

Coil spring compressors can be dangerous.

Yes, it can be done in the driveway, but a having a hoist makes it easier.

You're running short arms with 6.5 inch springs and you want to add more to it?

Interesting.

Do I need to state the obvious?

I will anyways.

First you need to at least buy some drop brackets. They're cheap and work awesome on about a 4 inch lift. 6inch lifts need long arms.

That thing must ride horribly.

What size tires are you planning to run?

With that much lift you could easily stick 40's on it.

Mine already has drop brackets.

And I just want to put spacers to level it out mine has some serious rake to the front. I have rough country adjustable shackles in the rear, and they are on their lowest setting.

Would throwing stock shackles on the back correct my problem?? Previous owner installed them so I don't know if they are longer than stock or not??

What's your shackle angle look like? I bet you could fix the shackle angle and it'd sit level.

My jeeps not near me right now but I know I have full Rc leaf packs and shackles. Maybe previous owner threw the longer shackles on for towing??

When you get back to the Jeep take a profile picture of the shackle and host it on here.

You can go back with the stock shackle but you're still probably going to have a horrible shackle angle.

HOLY JESUS!

Yeah, you need those brackets bad.

It should look like this...

The brackets would greatly improve your ride and lower the back of your Jeep an inch or two.

Yeah I had a RC 6.5 on an old xj once and the shackle angle was just like yours. Horrendous. I don't know what the RC engineers were thinking.

From that link for the relocation bracket it looks like they thought they could get people to buy brackets after realizing how their rear end looked. I've got the same 6.5" RC lift as well and mine look the same. Looks like I'll be getting some of those brackets in the near future as well.
