Hey guys I have a question for u all jeepsters I have a 4.5 rough country short arm with full leaf packs and s.y.e and iron rock rear shaft my qeustion is can I just add front spacers and 2in rear shackles for a total of 6.5 inches of lift?? Do I have top change any thing else???

you will need to see if both of your driveshafts are long enough, which likely you wont know until you do it. brake lines as well. are your short arms fixed? if they are that could cause an issue. non fixed could as well but it wont be as bad

Yea they are fixed and I thought if it was a doulble cardon shaft they extend? Well that's sucks I thought it would be a quick thing to do oh well thanks for the info

He's talking about you lower control arms NOT UR DRIVESHAFT!! If your control arms are FIXED, not adjustable, then u may need new control arms!! Double cardon driveshafts (I do believe, don't hate me if I'm wrong) are extendable to a point..... if u have a custom double cardon driveshaft for the rear with 4.5 lift then it should be fine with n extra 2in of lift cause its not going to require but maybe 5/8 to 1 inch longer so it should b fine

I have the same 4.5 lift but I still have my sy!!! I don't flex mine....just play n the mud!!!

it does extend, but only to an extent, and then the shaft comes apart. with a lot of lift you need custom shaft length so your shaft doesnt pull apart when flexing

your rear shaft should be fine, if you front is low pinion 2 mor inchs might be streching it a little high pinion should be oka i ran 6.5 lift no prob with front shaft stock 5 years never any trouble

keep in mind, that on some short arm setups, the front shaft can actually over compress into itself if the suspension is heavily drooped.

this can lead to its own set of problems, and in a worse case scenario can crack the transfercase if done with enough force.
