Default Wandering Bandaid?

My Xj has 5" of lift and 31-10.5-15's and is great on the expressway and smooth roads but when there's too much road crown or just a very uneven road it wanders back and forth alot. New ball joins, net control arm bushings, new tierods. I'm sure it has alot to do with my **** poor caster which I will fix eventually but I'm looking for a bandaid to keep it straight till then. I've been running without a sway bar for awile and wonder if re-installing it will help the wandering or not. Opinions??

Fixing your castor is all that's going to help with wandering.

Fix the castor. It's not difficult.

That's what I figured, I'm waiting on a set of control arm drop brackets and some adjustable arms to get the caster right.

Yeah, Perhaps there's enough adjustment in the stock adjusters to get you closer.

Yep, just loosened everything up and parked it by one of the hoists and used my big ratchet strap to pull the axle forward then stuck some shims in there and tightened her down. I'm getting those drop brackets soon and they give an extra inch of forward movement so I will fine tune it then.

So, have you driven it yet?

Have you measured the castor?

Not going to bother measuring it, it's still way off. I need to move the axle forward at least another inch to be close to stock angles. I just drove it and it's better so when I get the drop brackets I will measure it and go from there.

Stock arms yes (im broke) stock steering no. Ive upgraded to a crossover setup from an 01 grand cherokee. Much beefier rods and ends and it gets rid of that stupid split y steering setup that comes on xjs stock
