Default Wagoneer Dana 44 Question

Hey guys,

Im currently building a wagoneer dana 44 front axle for my XJ. I am having a hard time finding a rear wagoneer dana 44 to match the front. However, I did find an xj dana 44 rear. Is there anyway to convert the rear xj dana 44 to 6x5.5 bolt pattern to match the front. I know I can use adapters but i would rather not.

Thanks.

You can get custom axle shafts made, seems like adapters would be a better option, unless you plan on getting aftermarket shafts anyway.

Look in to a isuzu rodeo rear dana 44,It close to xj width its the same 6 lug and has rear disc brakes. Its not a bolt in but all you gotta do it cut off the 4 link mounting tabs and weld on new spring preaches and shock mounts.

No because wagoneer Dana 44 is narrower than a XJ 44 by a inch or something like that. You would either have to get shafts drilled for 6 lug on the XJ 44 or swap in an Isuzu dana 44 like mentioned. It's the correct width, comes with disc brakes, and matching 6 lug.

That's what I'm doing

And the Isuzu dana 44 is kinda cheap not many know about it or use it since its 6 lug.And it has a ok size aftermarket for it also.
