upgrades to my older cherokee
I have a 94 2 door jeep cherokee. lifted up with 4 1/2 in rough country suspension. Got most of the bells and whistles already on it.
SYE w/ tom woods drive shaft
Adjustable track bar
control arm drop brackets
Aftermarket control arms
breaded steel brake lines.
Shackles.
Well my motor is about shot. burning oil, leaking water.(crack on the block...but still going strong for the past two years! Damn things are bombproof!) so i picked up a 2000 jeep cherokee CHEAP! and plan on putting that motor in mine. my question is is there any other upgrades from the newer model that would work on my 94? Are the brakes the same or are t

If the head on your current engine is still good, put it on the new engine. 00-01 4.0 XJs had issues with the head cracking.
If the 00 has an 8.25 rear axle and yours has a D35, swap rear axles too. And you could swap the 00 front end onto yours if you like that style better.

Definitely check that cylinder head for sure. Yea if you have the d35 the 8.25 would be a quick upgrade. You could swap the brake booster. The 2000 should be a dual diaphragm. The new header panel does look better imo .you could swap the center console so you get drink holders lol.
