I I've been thinking of a way to stiffen up the side to side flex and wondered if anyone had ever fabbed up a bar that ties both sides of the jeep together and mount it under the rear seats? Would this really accomplish anything except for looking weird when the seat was raised up? Thanks
Also with a steering box brace is it permanently in the way of a front skid plate? Everything I've looked up states the skid is removed. Has anyone notched it so the brace works and the skid can still be installed? Thanks for the info!

A single piece of metal between two points won't do much, an X covering as much area as possible would be much more effective. Fab up a cage if you really want some stiffy.

I have been looking at the same thing. I first looked at building up the plate (sheet metal) that goes across the floor pans beneath the front of the rear seat. Unfortunately, the tunnel is right there so it would require some type of c-notch at the tunnel. AND it would be a huge notch. Maybe structural c-channel with a really thick and wide notch at the tunnel?
A bulk head or hoop from a roll cage would certainly offer stiffness but would significantly encroach on the cargo area.
If you come up with something please post it. I'll do the same as I am currently replacing rust and reinforcing frame rails.
