Default U-Turn vs Serious Offroad steering

I know I know... I should do the wj crossover steering upgrade, but I'm a mechanic and I'm sick of working on stuff by the time I get around to fixing mine, so the faster it goes on the better. I'm in the process of fixing my death wobble and I'm about to buy some new steering parts. This xj will eventually just be offroad only and used occasionally as a backup vehicle for daily. So between these 2 steering systems which is better? It needs to be able to handle some rock crawling and drive well on road. Or is there another relatively simple system I should consider. I don't really want the zj upgrade.

I don't think you will go wrong with the serious steering kit. I was going to order it but snagged a Currie currectlync for cheap. I didn't have to pay for shipping, duty etc (I live in Canada). If I hadn't gotten it I would have ordered the serious steering kit.

I went Serious and couldn't be happier. UTK and no stabilizer.

X2, I went with Serious UTK, with inserts. Such an upgrade. Frank is great to deal with also. Responds quickly, I even got updates on Saturday & Sunday on my orders.

I like mine too. I went with the 5/8" hardware and honestly couldn't be much happier. I'm at 8" of lift and didn't want to deal with moving the trac bar over the axle, but wanted OTK steering. I talked to Frank and he advised me to wait as I was going to do his utk kit and 8" would need OTK.Their kit is actually pretty similar in design to the discontinued Rock Krawler XJ steering.

The stock pitman arm is fine.

As long as your draglink and trackbar are parallel, you don't need a DPA.

Thanks for all of the replies! One question about the u-turn kit though. I haven't seen many of them run since they're relatively expensive. Will they handle the forces off-road as well as the serious kit? The u-turn kit looks to be thinner and possibly weaker at the connections. Any experience?

A few of the guys I wheeled with used to run u-turn kits and they were constantly battling loose jam nuts. Keep a BFW handy if you go that route.
