Angry trying to figure out my gear ratio

i have a 1998 cherokee lifted 6 1/2 inches on 35's, and as far as i was told is that it is running the stock gear ratio 3.55, but was never told for sure. i have heard that most people regear their cherokee once they get to about 33's due to the huge loss in power and torque. and in my cherokee i can do about 65 at 2300rpm or so, my question is there any way to tell your gear ratio by the way it drives? it no longer has the tag on either of the diff's so that isnt an option. just curious if anyone has any ideas!
thanks!

With those RPM's you stated you don't have the correct gearing for a 35" tire that would be a set of 4.88's min., you may very well still be on the 3.55's.

If you don't have lockers in now when you change gears would be a good time too install them also, same amount of labor involved for the work.

BTW WELCOME to the group!

Welcome to the forum! Yeah, you probably still have 3.55's, and like stated before, you want 4.88's for 35 inch tires.

If you are running 35 inch tires and turning 2300 rpms at 65 mph and the speedo is correct, you already have 4.88 gears.

Check out this website: http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html
Just plug your info in and it does the math.
