trouble codes
 
[B]i have a 98 cherokee sport...and no back up lights...just got trouble codes 700 and 705..anyone know what they mean ? thank you

does it shift through the gears alright? P0700 just refers to internal trans fault

yes it does...but last couple of days when i start it ..something under my feet is rattling really bad....but it runs fine...so far...:( i kinds thought it was the muffler...but a friend said he didnt think it was that

Good possibility that's bad engine/trans mounts allowing the exhaust to rumble against the trans crossmember. Needs a visual inspection.

Do a search for neutral safety switch. There are a lot of good write-ups out there. I just had those same two codes last week. Took the switch off, cleaned it, put it back together. The next day the check engine light went off and has stayed off. Hardest part was cutting the zip ties holding the wires in place and then getting it aligned just right when I put it back on. Be careful not to over-torque the bolts. It's basically a free repair, so it's worth a shot.
