Make relief cuts in between the pinch welds then hammer the tabs over into the wheel well

You can trim just past the holes but stay below the pinch welds

Take your time with them. Use an air saw or sawzall and make vertical cuts first. Make sure you make your cuts in between the pinch welds!! Do not I repeat do not make your cut through the pinch welds. After you make all of your vertical cuts you want to get yourself a mallet and fold them up and in. The paint will chip. You can heat the fender up with a heat gun which will help with the chipping also...

The biggest thing is take your time and pay attention that's all.

I just used a grinder with a cutting wheel on it and lopped off enough metal to install TJ rear fender flares in its place. Its worked great so far!

I cut the outer edge off mine with a saw saw, then cut lines up to the second part of the flair, then beat it with a hammer. took 10-15 min and I have had people tell me it looks great in person.

also. when you are cutting in between the pinch welds; here is a tip so they won't look hacked.

Note i used an air saw. sawall will work but not a whole of room for finess cutting.
take the cut to about 1/16th"- 1/8" just under the last flare out of the rear 1/4. this way when you bend the tabs back it will be all but a seamless transition.

I did this with mine. then sanded down with a air sander. then painted it with undercoating.

Hahaha, Ok here they are. Sorry I went to bed right after posting that.

Finished product

I cut the front of the fender off that went to the air dam. I thought it made the front look cleaner. Using the lip on the backside of the fender flare gave the fender and flare more support. You will also have to trim the TJ fender flare both on the front and back of it. But it doesn't take too long to do that. If you are really interested and arent doing the project soon, I have to do this process again to my rear fender flares so I can document it better that time. I had two weeks to do the fender flares, build the front bumper, make front frame stiffeners, and work on the 4x4 system. So I threw the camera to the side when it became crunch time.
