tricky question?
I just bought a 91 XJ that has a three and a half inch Tuff Country easy ride lift with leaf springs in the rear I'm looking to replace upper and lower control arms but I don't know what links or a good brand I'm looking to stay at three and a half inches with 31s but I want this thing to flex as much as possible I'm all for drop brackets adjustable control arms fixed or a combo whatever works best I want to know what would be the best for my situation and if anyone knows the length of fixed arms for 3&a half inch lift that would be nice too

If you want the strongest get Ironman4x4 arms http://www.ironman4x4fab.com/Products/LCA-F.html
I have IRO arms. http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...egory_Code=XSP I have nothing bad to say about them, but I'm not a hardcore wheeler. |

http://www.seriousoffroadproducts.co...J-MJ-ZJ-RE3780 http://www.seriousoffroadproducts.co...RM-DROP-RE9900 http://www.seriousoffroadproducts.co...-RE9900-RE9905 There you go. But honestly if you want to flex. Buying upper and Lower control arms , and drop brackets. It is going to be ~$600. For that price you could get long arms. So I definitely suggest long arms. |
I'm sure you have removed your rear sway bar haven't you, if not get rid of it. You will need front sway bar disconnects also. You must have these 2 to get you started.
Shackles, a greaseable one does help somewhat I'm using a boomerang one also. You "Must" have the proper shocks and that takes measuring to get the lengths you require. I did not see you mention a track bar or if one came with your kit or not. If not I might suggest a good double shear one. Adjustable Upper & Lower Control Arms center the front differential in the wheel in the wheel well. Another upgrade to consider and under $100 new parts is the ZJ tie rod upgrade for the front end with all that flex  I didn't do all these things at once so take your time and see what works best for you. None of these will hurt for sure. |
I was considering long arms but all them say you need 4 to 6 inches of lift is that true or are they just BSing Plus most of them other than rough country are really expensive with all the things I've heard about rough country I'd rather stay away from them

if all it does is push the axle forward a quarter inch I'm not totally against that I have plenty of space in the fenderstrying to stay with my 31or I could just get half inch coil spacers and a half inch shackle for the rear Leafs
