Default Transmission Upgrades.

Ok, I have a 1994 Cherokee open country. I have a Low mileage transmission, about to order a new crate motor, bought an aftermarket transmission cooler with a fan and a temp gauge to watch the trans temp. Putting new heavy duty springs in the rear and I hope to pull a camper with this. I Want to know what transmission upgrades I should get like a shift kit maybe? If anyone could point me in the right direction with maybe links to recommended and trusted parts that would be awesome.

thanks in advance
Matt

Is there anyway that with heavier-duty leaf-springs, and upgrades This 94 Cherokee can pull a fairly large bumper tow camper that my parent's 2002 GMC1500 tows? their truck is on its last leg and still pulls it. now the gross weight of the 2 axle camper is 7,000lbs. With the system to operate the trailer's electric brakes and my new engine, is there any upgrades I can do to be able tow this? I would love to be able to pull this camper every now and then. just wishful thinking if I could, but if it is do able, then right now is when I will make the upgrades.

Thank you

I wouldn't try it personally. These things don't tow all that great with the short wheelbase. I would be fearful that the trailer would just make your XJ Its B*^&%. Then again, I'm no expert on towing I would trust my XJ with a small boat or a trailer with a couple quads but thats about as big as I would go.

Just so were clear- the XJ's tow limits are 500/5000. So no matter what you do, ya can't tow more ham that..

Idk about upgrades.. But a swap would do the trick.
