Default Transmission cooler Piping

I'm in the market for a tranny cooler, since I have a 4.0l with auto and heat is bad mmmm kay. But also because my tranny line is leaking at the fitting from rubber to steel.

I know where I want to mount the cooler. But how to do the piping from the stock lines is my question. Can anyone post some pictures of their piping so I can get a good idea?

Based on your location you can completely delete the factory routing if you want and just make a loop between the transmission and the cooler. If you don't want to delete the factory heat exchanger in the radiator then take the output line, cut it and plumb it into the cooler, run the output from the cooler to the radiator and then leave the return line from the radiator to the tranny alone.

Hope this helps.

I was going to just skip the factory cooling setup. I'm just wondering what would be more effective, cutting at the metal pipe, or extending from the rubber line.

Never mind. This whole thread is a brain fart on my end hah.

Metal lines, rubber hoses, and hose clamps. I'll post a picture of my setup once I finish, in case anyone else brain farts hard like me.

That's how I did it. I put two hose clamps on next to each other just to help prevent leaks.

FWIW: My factory setup on my old 96 leaked at the quick-disconnect dealie. I got angry one day, cut out that part, and used 3/8" tranny hose with clamps holding it on the metal pipes and it never leaked after over a year of driving that way. I flared the ends of the metal lines a little before I put the hose on and clamped it. You can see both hose clamps here, one to the left of where I'm pointing at the new hose, and one the the right after the hose loops up and around under the bumper to avoid the fan. I only used one clamp on each end and it never leaked a drop.
