Hi all, I am going to be putting this transmission and transfer case into my 1999 XJ soon, and was curious if I could just remove the rusty steel piece from my trans, since I am going to be using the AZZYDESIGNWORKS linkage? I think that the only function for the piece is to attach the factory transfer case linkage.
Hell ya you can throw that thing in the scrap pile, just remember to put the bolts back where they came from. Azzy's linkage bolts directly from the shift lever to the transfer case shift fork. Simple and it works great.
