Transfer Case Drop Kit Question

So I just bought an "89 XJ that the previous owner had installed a Rough Country 3 inch lift on. The lift was the Series II with new leafs, coils and control arms.
He gave me a transfer case drop kit, said he didn't install it because he had heard that using it would damage the motor mounts.
I asked him how that would happen, he thought that when the transfer case is dropped, it slightly changes the angle of the motor/transmission/transfer case, thereby putting more pressure on the motor mounts.
Is this something that is a real concern ? Or should I install the drop kit ?
Thanks in advance for the advice.

He is correct, it does change some angles around. Do you have driveline vibes? If yes, install it until you can afford a SYE. Drop kits are looked at as a temporary fix, where as a SYE is the permanent solution. If you don't have any vibration while driving, I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Ive been running one for 11 years no issues. Sye give better angles an no chance of fluid loss if driveshaft is removed.
