Question trans advise

ok so I am looking for some help, I just picked up a '92 xj with a 3.5" lift. I have the 4.0 out and to the machine shop soon to come back as a 4.7 My question is the trans has 260k miles on it and it would be a good idea to have it built while I have the engine out. I have a 700r4 left over from another build that is new with all the updates. The adapter from advance to mate it to the 4.0 is cheep to get but what t-case do you think I should go with?

1. My 231 with another adapter

2. 205, 208, 241 (I have one of each) but right hand drop and swap front axle to match

3. Your suggestion

4. if it aint broke dont fix it

The aw4 runs well and does not show any warning signs of going out but I did get it from the original owner and it has never been out of the jeep.
I will be installing the R/C 6.5" long arm kit with 33's or 35"s soon as the motor is in. I am looking for the best crawl ratio I can get and just cant aford an atlas after doing the 4.7 build and the lift with tires.
thanks for the help

I agree that its a good unit (aw4), I am just on a budget and have the 700r4 all built up and sitting on my shop floor. What tempts me the most is the lower first gear and higher over drive ratios. This can have double ended options. lower ring and pinion with the same performance on the freeway and better performance (crawl ratio) on the trail at the same time.
Thanks for the reply

Well if the R4 is already built than why not? But you could probably slap a cooler on the aw4 and keep wheeling it until you have the money.

Sounds like you might be want to do a doubler to get the crawl ratio you want
