Default Track Bar Fitment Question

Any reason why this Rough Country track bar won't work with 3" of lift?

http://www-b.jcwhitney.com/adjustabl...=d1163y1999j1#

It says it's for 4-6.5" of lift, which seems like a fairly small window for an adjustable track bar..

It's an awesome price so I'm hoping it will work. Any input is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Rough Country makes two different size ranges of track bar:

1.5"-4.5": http://roughcountry.com/jeep-adjusta...-bar_7572.html

and

4"-6": http://roughcountry.com/jeep_xtras_1079.html

with either one they say you need their drop pitman arm as well.

I have the RC 4.5" lift kit on my XJ and plan on getting RC upper control arms and adjustable track bar 4"-6" soon. Hope I helped.

I know they have the two different sizes on their website, but the one on jcwhitney is $30 cheaper. That's why I was specifically looking at that one ha.

Well I just picked up the rough country 1.5-4.5" adjustable track bar (part number 7572 I think) from fat bobs garage. I got it for $124 out the door with tax.

This is their new (2nd generation) adjustable track bar and it's supposed to be a lot stronger. It sure looks beefy.

Now, the question is how much longer does the adjustable track bar need to be than the stock track bar? Usually when people relocate their track bar they move it over 3/4".. So does that mean I should extend the adjustable one 3/4" more than the stock one??

Pretty sure I have the one you posted the JC Whitney link to- should be good for smaller lifts, like 2-3" or maybe even less. I called RC about it before I bought mine.

If you used a 4.5+ on 3 it would push the axle too far to the right instead of it being centered

There is no exact number. You need to measure and center the axle.

Would it be best to do it with the tires on or off the ground?

I've always done track bars with the tires on the ground. But I've never installed an adjustable one before.

If you read my posts, I clearly stated it is an adjustable 1.5-4.5" track bar.

In the original post you asked if linked tb would fit on 3 inches of lift and you said it was for 4-6 so it would be too long
