Track bar

So I have a 3 inch lift on my 96 cherokee and was wondering if I should go with a bracket to drop the track bar to fit the lift and keep the original bar or go with an adjustable track bar. What are your thoughts?

Double shear Adjustable track bar is the way to go. Most come with drop bracket also

iro double shear, a little pricey at $190 for the adjustable bar and the double shear bracket, but it will work for almost any other lift you do and most likely outlive the jeep that its on

billytoad631 08-15-2013 02:46 PM

drop bracket isn't necessary with that small of a lift. an adj track bar will be just fine

XJwonders 08-15-2013 02:49 PM

Some track bars do come with drop brackets or even a normal bracket.

Another vote for the double shear trac bars.

Much better design.

Anyone have a recommendation for a double shear track bar that could be used at stock height until I can lift to 2-3"? I can't seem to find one that will work until I hit 3" and I am needing to replace my current stock unit.

iron rock offroad used to have an option for one for 0-3" and 3-7" or something like that and they overlapped, I would email them and ask if it would work on a 3" lift, I assume it would though, im installing one for a 3.5" RE lift, and a friend is using one on a 3" zone lift

I would start your own thread, much better that way.

Yup, what boss man said. Much better than thread jacking. Plus searching will find your answer fast

Gee oh Dee 08-15-2013 09:27 PM

I was thinking he'd prolly get better/more responses with a thread titled and dedicated to his issue. :dunno:

sycoglitch 08-15-2013 09:31 PM

He def would, ppl would stop and look for sure and it teaches him a viable lesson too, possibly.

Maybe I'm just that one million person with bad luck...but i have had a weld break on a track bar from Rustys, and after replacing it the bushing has already worn less then a year after replacing which is damn near giving me the deafwobble.
