I'd prob run that one on the rear and it really depends on how badly it's worn. What size are they and are they the KMs or KM2s. If they are the KMs you can't replace one if it gets damaged because they don't make them any more.

It depends on how badly that one tire is worn. Do they come with wheels?
If it's real bad, you can buy another new one (assuming they really are only 90% worn) and use the bad one for the spare. $500 is kind of steep though...

500 is way steep for a tire that hasn't been made in a few years and you won't find a new replacement for it new. Those tires would go for 250 at most in this part of the country.

are you sure that is steep? i mean they do come with wheels. they aren't in the best shape but they could be cleaned up and painted. my only concern is if i bust a tire they don't make that tire anymore and im sol. im only seventeen and cant afford two new pairs of tires.

for only a couple hundred more you could pick up a new set easy. i know moneys hard but you also gotta think that if anything does happen you cant get a replacement and how old those tires really are. 500 is way to much for a tire that old, even if they do come with rims which are probably cheep steels anyway.

When I put 35s on my TJ, I bought a set of 4 from craigslist* with 90% tread. 1 of the 4 had a huge sidewall gash. So I used this as a bargaining chip to talk the guy down to 375$. I looked around prior to purchasing and found the tire on clearance (discontinued design) and bought 2x brand new (for 125 each) to go with the 3 good used ones. I put the 2 brand new on the rear, 2 of the 90% went on front and the 3rd good used one went as a spare. I discarded the ripped sidewall. All in all, I ended up with 5x near mint 35s for $675.
I would talk him down a lot on the price since they are discontinued and one is worn funny (assuming cupped from alignment/air pressure issue), maybe offer him 300, and let him talk you up, but I wouldn't go more than 400 for these, and ONLY if you can do what i did and find a couple in good shape used or on clearance.
