Default Tire question

Im running 255/85/16 bighorns right now on 7inch soft 8's, the back 2 are still new but the fronts have a considerable amount of wear on the outside with the pass side being a little worse. Anyway it seems these arent as easy to find as they used to be and the price has gone up. Since I will need to put some money into my front end I need to save where I can. My question is can I run 285/75/16's? From what I can tell the only difference is the width and not by much.

What state do you live in? I'm assuming you are talking about the Maxxis Bighorn. Should be available @ any Les Schwab. 285 is 30mm or just over an inch wider, also a 7 inch wide wheel is the narrowest you can run a 285 on, so it will bow the center of the tire out some, and you won't get as good of mileage on the tires. I've worked for Les Schwab for about 7 years so if you have any other questions just let me know.
