well i dont know where that is...
but my rule of thumb is leave them till you get stuck....when you do air down start at 10psi and gradualy go down to 4psi as needed... if the going gets rough right away and the rest of the group airs down right at the begining of the trail well might as well

get on board air even if its a cheap electric cig lighter compressor

Rite on i appreciate the help, and pismo beach is in CA all dunes , i usually air down to about 10psi on rocks and trails , only reason i ask is simply because i don't have beadlock rims since im running a 8" wide rim on a 12.5" tire so if i air down to about 8psi would it be a problem with speed?

I don't think you'd need that low, I'd keep it in the teens

yeah, 12-15 should be fine. the sand is soft so you won't need to air down much for a smooth ride.

bead locks for are great but (only ounce) iv in an emergency aired a cracked stock rim down to 4psi in snow and driven it about 50km... you only need them when your hard on the gas...... i wouldnt recommend going fast on aired down tires...

have fun in the dunes

as long as your not doing high speed stuff or putting a side to side force on the tire you should be fine I aired my old 33x12.5 down to 6psi on the sand once was going around in 2wd most of the time. but remember not to drive on the street at a very long or at a high speed they a radial tires and will self destruct.

I would say that 12psi is a good starting point for going all out word to the wise make sure you plan your route acordingly here on some the hills in oregon you get woops or hidden obsticle mid hill that can cause issuse if you just wide open.
also slight left to right move ments on the steering very minimum can help clear tires and find grip. if you go air borne off the top remember to let off the gas before landing or you might break stuff.
