Default Tire Lift and Gear Question

Hey guys currently i have a 3'' lift with 31s. In the summer I'm thinking of going 4.5'' lift. I put bushwhacker cutout flares on my jeep yesterday and they look too big for the tires. I have 4 inch backspacing cragar soft 8's. What would look better with this combo? 32x 11.5 or 33x 12.5. I want the tire to look not to big and not too small. And i still have stock gears. Would that be fine until i have enough money to regear?

Yes I believe that your gears start to suffer, I mean they are going to suffer a bit with normal in town driving

Nah, 33x12's on stock gears would really kill your gas mileage in the city as well. Prolly put it around 8-11mpg. I felt a considerable loss in power and fuel economy just going to 31's

Am sorry, I hit the sent button to early, I was saying was they are going to suffer somewhat with normal intown driving not as much as highway use of coarse. But from what I hear, it's important to change your gears when going over 33"s

Any suv/truck you put BIG TIRES on of coarse it's going to suck gas like a kid sucking on a slurpee on a hot summers day. I had mud grapps on my dodge and man a full tank would last me less then a week.

Honestly I would just stick it out with stock gears and 33's until you have the money to regear

X2, When I went to 33's its was livable, passing on the freeway was a bit rough, but driveing more relaxed will help the MPG and make this less annoying. When I had 33's and 3.55 (auto) I was getting an average of 12 ish mpg city/highway.

When I went to 4.56's and 33's It was AMAZING! Felt better then stock to me. MPG jumped to about 15-17 ish depending on how I was driving lol

It really comes down to weather or not you want 33's, If you do then do it now. do it once So you aren't left with 32's and a want for 33's...

I have 33s now on stock gears and all is well. Of course performance suffers a bit but not enough to even slightly concern me. I will still be regearing as the next set will be 35s but if I was staying with 33s I would not even think to regear. As for the bushwackers, you need 33s minimum not to look weird. 35s look even better.
