Default Tire decisions

I'm torn right now wrangler duratracs or bfg all terrains? I wanna go with either 32" or 33" at least 10" wide. Not sure what rims yet. I drive a lot, about 65-70 miles a day at least, But i also want solid off road performance. I need something to last me awhile. Any inputs. What kind of mileage is expected with these tires?

I can tell you from experience that duratracs are way better off road and on road. Plus a better price as well. The only issue is they don't come in a 32. If you wheel in the snow then duratracs will be amazing. As far as mileage goes my dads duratracs have about 14k on them and still look new. My buddys bfg's have about 22k and are damn near bald

Yeah I like the looks of the duratracs and heard lots of good things about both of them, but I was just worried about the mileage I could get out of em. Now how do they handle in the sand?

Honestly I can't tell ya. I live in Pennsylvania so I don't exactly hit a lot of sand dunes lol.

Haha understandable. Thanks for the input. I wanna go 33x12.5 so I'd prolly get something along the lines of a cragar soft 8 or something with 4" back spacing, would you happen to know if I'd be ok with that as far as rubbing?

Well as far as rubbing on the lower control arms, a 4" bs will be fine. I can't tell you if it will rub on anything else bc I don't know how much lift you have. Fill me in on that and ill share my wisdom lol

They have a metric 285/75R16 that is between 32-33 inches tall by 11.5 inches wide roughly.

Just installed my RC 4.5" with 2" budget booster. It's running 32" right now on stock rims with plenty of clearance as far as rubbing goes, they just don't stick out at all and almost rub the rear leafs

Between the 2, I would choose the duratrac, you could also look into the Kelly Safari TSR. Almost identical, made by GY as well. There are also other good quality all-terrain tires. Bridgestone Dueler AT REVO, Falken Wildpeak AT/Rocky Mountain ATS, General Grabber AT2 is a good alternative to the crappy BFG KO as well.

That's what I wanted to do some 15x10 cragars with 4" bs so I might be golden with the 33s then!!

You buddy must have not done rotations on them plus have alignment issues bfg ats are a 50,000 mile tire. One of my friends got 100,000 put of his. It's all how you take care of them and your vehicle

As for what tire it comes down to what you will be doing with it. More of a dd as to wheeling. What environment will you be in too. One prob with the dura is two ply side wall. If they made it three ply more people would prob run them

That's a lot of miles on a tire!! All tire wear aside, if the bfg at and the duratrac were people, the duratrac would punch the bfg in the face and steal its girlfriend lol
