Default timing chain difference

I have a 2000 cherokee and im putting a 95motor in it. And I wanna know why they put a different timing chain in it and which one I should use on the 95 motor

I have never heard of the 4.0 ever having a different timing chain. the part stores show the same part number for all the years. so why do you think they are different?

Autozone has two differentcrane part numbers for and the 2000 has more links on the chain

Use the 95 if its a 95 motor. Are you using the 2000 head?

But Idk why they would change it could it be for the coil on plug setup

Well I wouldn't worry too much. Just use the chain for the year of the block.

where do you see a chain for the 4.0 that is more than 64 links. all i can see are chains with 64 links in it. post a link if you will please. im curious to see this. indexing the cam would not be done by adding more links on the chain. it is little more precise than that.

It would be the gear. Guess I assumed it was being bought as a set.
