Default Thud noise in the back end

Hey there.
Just put a 2" lift on and did some reading and some people are still using the stock shocks. Not to sure if this mite be the problem or not. Any thoughts?

Might depend of the brand of shock used but I'm at 2" with stock KYB Mono Max shocks with no problems. I did fit longer bump stops to.

The only things back there are the shocks and leaf springs. I had a loud clunking in the back and finally i figured out that my shock was loose. so you might wanna check the shocks and see if they're loose, and if they are, tighten them up. The shocks might not seem loose by shaking them, but they might be, youd just have to check.

I have checked every nut and bolt back there. And I know what you are saying I have had that happen before and I wish it was that. That is why it has me stumped. I even when as far as to check the gas tank to make sure it was not going to fall out LOL.

That's really generic...blocks, springs, add-a-leaf, front, rear, both or what?

check away bar bushing. Lift may have been enough to cause a wore out bushing to start making noise possibly or just remove the rear swaybar really didn't make any difference in handling on my 98

Its the rear end and it has 2" shackles no new spring every thing else is still stock. And it will only do it when it hits a sharp speed bump.

Are the springs trashed?
Is the shackle angle like 90°?

Shackle angle is not at 90 a bit under 90 like 80 or 75 and the springs sit's almost flat like any stock jeep that I have ever seen.
