Are These Good Winch Bumper Specs?
Honestly I don't know much about metal work. Was thinking about having a winch bumper made locally.
What is everyone's opinion on a full width bumper made of 3/16th plate, 1 3/4" tubing, and 3/4" D-rings, with 10-point brackets? Is that too thin? Too heavy? Ample for deer protection? What do you figure would be a fair price?

Here is a link to my winch bumper build. The center section where the winch mounts, the frame mounting plates are 1/4" thk. material and the side sections are of 1/8" material. The complete bumper with out the winch weight was 72#.
If I were to do it over again I would use 3/16" material for the center section which would save a few pounds.

Good luck

Most of the angles are cut, welded then ground down. As you can see in the link the top angle on the plates were grooved about half way thru the thickness of the plate on the back side, then bent and welded.
