Live in Texas and the guy I bought the jeep from was in Colorado. He only has an aftermarket fan on the radiator so naturally it keeps my jeep pretty hot because how hot it is here. Well anyway it seems to turn on around 235 or so, I bought a new stock fan from a 99 and im wondering how I get it to turn on at about 195? He has it hooked up to that sender thing which goes inside my radiator tube to check the coolant temp. But couldn't I just hook up the other fan to the stock wires and it should come on at 195??

hey, if i clearly understand your fan turn on when temp reached 235?
if so - your regulator have small shaft you able to ajust temp by rotating it.
a have same temp switch but have also other system that turn on my fan fir the case when this switch died.

if you have 2 vent right ?
1 mechanical and second e-fan ?
if so you able to build hybrid electrical schema for your e-fan
as i`m understand you want to be sure that e-fan turned on if your radiator thermal switch dies ?
what year if your XJ ?
of it renix-era that have thermal switch in radiator a may draw schema with 2 switch for one fan with one speed for you.
please describe what you want to get at the end ?

He replaced the stock mechanical fan with electrical? Or the stock electrical fan with some aftermarket crap? Your second pic shows a rather bare section of radiator where the stock efan should be... did he remove it??
Stock electrical fan should turn on around 218 coolant temp, with the thermostat opening at 195. This gives the mechanical fan control over 195-218ish. If you were to replace the mechanical fan with an electric it should also be on at maybe 200.

Well the ECU's fan output is set at the temperature I mentioned, it's supposed to be the secondary fan. You're going to want to install the mechanical fan again since you're in Texas. The only real alternative would be a Ford Taurus fan that moves something like 3800 CFM wired to a custom setup. You'd need some kind of electric thermostat, or programmable or something, relay off the PDC, and drill/tap a bung for a temp sensor in a coupler in your upper rad hose or something.
