tcase install
so i swaped a 231 into my 89 xj 2 door. i took out the 242. runs great a few prob tho. the tease i got came from a yj. the front yoke is diff so i can't bolt the front drive shaft in. should i get a front yoke from a xj 231 or yj 231? also i put a slip yoke kit in the case i installed today. i also installed the novak shifter cable for the t-cace. the bracket that connects to the tcase hits the shifter mount in the trans tunnel. any idea? also third issue, i got a new speed gear and well it dosnt work. could it be because the case in from a yj?

When I swapped TC, also had to swap the front yoke. It was for a flange type driveshaft, we need the 1310 u-joint style. Yoke is not pressed on but a puller makes it easier to remove. Be sure and reuse the rubber washer.
Does your 1989 had a cable speedometer? Spedometer gears come in long and short versions.
I thought the Novak cable requires the stock mount to be removed from tunnel?
