Tailpipe overhang
This is probably super **** and ridiculous but here it goes.
I have a 2000 xj and I have the borla stainless 2.5" exhaust on it. I also have a JCR spare tire carrier rear bumper on it. I just had the bumper Bed-lined and I was curious how much I should have the tailpipe stick out from the back. I don't know if I would be hot enough to damage the paint on the bumper or not. Should I just make it flush with the back edge of the bumper? Just curious what everyone else does. Thanks.

Most people do a turn down back there by either keeping the stock tip or making their own when they do a kit. Ive yet to put a rear bumper back on mine but i decided to go straight out with it. I dont think im gonna have an issue but to give you an idea theres a build thread in my sig im doing on my black jeep. Ill be updating it tomorrow with more exhaust pics actually. You should check it out. Hope it helps

Yeah a down turned tailpipe would be nice. However the Borla comes with a nice chromed out straight tip. It has a space between the pipe and the chrome tip so I am hoping that would provide some relief from any heat. That is a good point that was a made about smashing it up on the trail.
I will check out your build for sure! THanks for the info.
