You're right, CR, you don't need anyone here and you will be fine, but, you came here because you wanted input and you got it from the most respected Jeep guy here. I don't like being told I'm full of BS by my wife sometimes, but, sometimes she is right and I lick my wounds and carry on.

Apology to Cruiser and any others,,,
Ok, so I just finished reading Cruisers Tips. I have to say, I am impressed, and you have my attension!!! I apologize... I just assumed that you were some 20 year old kid, still popping zits and taking advantage of the living arrangements of mommy and daddy's basement while you flip burgers somewhere and use all of your hard earned money to fix up your jeep !!! After reading the Renix tips, I can now say that I see the light. I thought that i was the only one **** enough to start unplugging electrical connections and clean them !!! My bad !!! So far, i had already been reading Salads posts, now ill be catching up on Cruisers too,,, 🤐

Yeah, so anyway....
This is the best oil for your XJ!
This was an "ok" oil thread.
I think CR could of held out a bit longer and bickered a little better.
Pressure in the engine could have easily turned into a 15 page rant about bad rings. That'll make oil blow out of the "path of least resistance" every time.
Overall it was a good read throughout the better part of the week, entertaining, and I'll give it a 6 on a scale of 1-10.
4 page oil thread, three pages aren't even about the topic.

I'd like to add one thing though and that is, never discount someone because of their age. There's plenty of us on CL that are younger than you but have quite extensive knowledge of the mechanical systems specific to these vehicles. They have their own little quirks and "special needs". You mentioned that you follow Salad's posts.... he's around the same ripe old age of 35 that I am. Knowledge, experience, and maturity have little to do with age.

The oil is blue and it says racing on the bottle. So it must be good. It's even got a new zinc formula that blows away the old one. It works for me and my needs and thats all that matters.
Put oil in your Jeep, change it at the correct intervals and dont worry about what's the best oil. Changing oil at the right time is more important then the oil used. That is my 2 cents.

plus... this helps to nip this thread in the butt before someone chimes in that doesn't know how to "adult" and remain objective. lol.
