SYE leak issue with Ford 8.8 swap
People that are way smarter than I, please let me know if this is a random issue or not.
I have a 2001 XJ that has a swapped in Ford 8.8 and a Rough Country SYE kit installed. The problem that I am having is that my SYE seal at the output shaft now wants to leak. Also I re-geared to 4.88 gears but am still riding the stock 29" wheels until new ones are purchased.
Is this an issue with the low gears and small tires, or just a binding issue with the Ford 8.8 pinion offset?
Thanks for any help!

Wieghts are there. Shaft ordered from Tom Woods.
Had everything inspected before installed. There is a loud winning hum when accelerating, and it stops when pedal is released.

I don't know who makes the RC SYE but I bought one from Rugged Ridge and it leaked.
I popped the Yoke out to find the machining marks were too rough for the neoprene seal to do its job. Spent 10 minutes with some emery cloth polishing and it fixed the problem. Your fingernail shouldn't catch, if so it needs polished a bit.
