SYE and corresponding new driveshaft length??
So it looks like i'm headed down the SYE path sometime soon.
According to Rockridge4wd, i am to measure from the center of the pinion yoke U joint to the back of the transfer case to figure out how long the new driveshaft should be. Is there any wiggle room for error in this measurement?? If i go under there with a tape measure and am off by a 1/4" is it going to matter much???
Also, I'm planning on putting heavy duty bumpers and a winch on. Is it true that this will squash down my suspension and flatten out my driveshaft angle some? Wouldn't this change the length between the U joint and transfer case?
Better yet, should i wait until after i put on the bumpers to do the SYE and driveshaft? Or, will it not matter if i do the SYE/driveshaft now, then bumpers later on?

So, if i measure for the new driveshaft as aforementioned, is there any wiggle room for measurement error? I can't imagine this being a precision measurement by any means. Will a tape measure do?
