Default sye on 6.5 lift

Hey guys I just got my rc long arm kit on with 35s... I got my sye and driveshaft today as well.. thing is it doesn't drive bad at all... I'm wondering if I should have saved the 650 and done without the sye...... any thoughts??

keep driving it and the ujoint or tcase output bearings will fail on you eventually. it might happen when its convenient, it might not.

I think the sye is the way to go. Especially if you already have it. There will be less binding if the axle drops down a little while wheeling and less stress on that upper ujoint. And from what I understand, you may be able to use a front shaft in the rear. May be wrong on that last one. Haven't tried it yet. That would make it very easy to carry spare drive shafts while off-road.

Yeah your probably right... I need to get over being cheap I guess too hahaha.. I got the tom woods rear shaft as well.. I will put it in. While I got you guys I was going to throw on a different steering stabalizer as well and I went to take off the bolt next to the axle and track bar and the draglink/tie rod is directly in the way. No room to pull it out.. is there a trick to this!??? Installed the lift myself in a apartment parking lot but can't get a damn steering stabalizer bolt out!! Haha

Try driving without the stabilizer, see how it feels. When I changed steering, I got rid of the stabilizer and never looked back.

I picked up a XJ almost a month ago with a 8.5 in. long arm with no SYE.

Needless to say it will be getting one.

Yeah... I figured I needed it but I was just so suprised at how smooth it was with stock steering and driveshafts..
