Default Sway bar

I have a 2001 XJ and had a RC 3.5 or 4.5" lift installed 2 years ago. Never had any issues with it. Had an oil change done today and the guy who did it has an XJ as well. The paperwork said "sway bar link LF bent and bushing coming apart due to too much angle at sway bar. Needs drop brackets for lift kit." My regular XJ mechanic said the only parts I'll need for him to fix it is a sway bar kit consisting of the bolts and rubber bushings. Does this sound right? I thought I would need some disconnects or adjustable sway bar links. What parts will I need to fix what has been damaged and fix the sway bar angle? Thank you for any and all help...I'm lost guys!

to do it right, you need longer swaybar links.

Are the standard links 8.25"? I am finding adjustable ones online. Are those a suitable replacement?

Swaybars are not worth the hassel. throw them out and don't look back.

They do not help anywhere except trying to drift the jeep, which I would not suggest.

I would say keep the sway bars. I know that a lot of guys haven't had sway bars on their XJ for the last 20 years but it only takes one **** up and your holding up traffic while someone cleans up jeep parts off the freeway

I posted a video a while back of me trying to drift my xj with no swaybars. Couldn't get it to drift that well in the gravel. I was bummed. Wet pavement I can get sideways, dry I didn't try. Its pretty freaking stable.

If you want street performance and stability, drive a vette.

If you are in doubt. Take a minute or two and try it with no sway bars. Don't like it, connect them back.

I am keeping the sway bar. Just confused as to what parts I should replace based on my original post. I'm getting confused with sway bar repair kits, sway bar end kits and adjustable sway bar end links.

Its hard to tell for certain without pictures. That said you could get you some nice Disconnects and call it a day?

Don't try towing a heavy load at highway speeds w/o the front one. ESPECIALLY in turns.

Get quality brand the first time around. They're expensive but go JKS. They're worth it

Hit up HudsonN here on the forums, he makes some custom disconnects for a good price.

OR, do as I have done and holycaveman and ditch the swaybar altogether

I have the same links and I love them. I used to go through the hassle of unbolting them but bc its not my dd i just leave them unhooked.
