Swapped 8.25 noise
Besides annoying, short term should be fine. Just keep in mind that you're putting unwanted stresses on bearings. Before I installed my SYE, I grabbed a bunch of washers & dropped my cross member down until there was no vibes. Quick & easy fix. You may not need to drop it much to clear it up.

Well the sye went in and put a front driveshaft on the rear. Shimed the rear to what looks like the ideal angle and went for a test drive.
Still makes the rumbling sound.
Maybe a little better but it's definitely still there. The donor jeep I got the axle from had a yukon gears sticker on the rear hatch so I wonder if it's been messed with prior. The info I found on the jeep was that it through a rod and the motor was pulled. I didn't see anything about the rear end being messed up. So is my next option to take it to a shop that can diagonse if the gears are bad?
