I have a 1986 XJ with a 207 TC. The front drive shaft has gone bad so I need to replace it w/o breaking the bank. I have found some leads that a front drive shaft from a newer model XJ with a 231 TC will also bolt right up to the 207 TC. I wanna do this swap, because I hear the newer front drive shafts are a way better design. Any info before I start ?

 

i've heard the same thing, although ive never done it myself. You can get remanufactured ones at the auto parts store or bring it to a local driveshaft shop and get the joint fixed
