Suspension upgrades without major lifting?
Hello fellas, just registered to the forum. Not a mechanic nor an expert on Jeep’s so hopefully this is the right place for advice. I’ve recently bought a 96 Cherokee XJ. 166k miles and I would like to upgrade the suspension for occasional distant travel and minor off road trails when fishing/camping. That being said I am not interested in jacking the vehicle up in height for extreme off roading or rock climbing, I would like to inquire about some decent options for practical yet strong suspension (better than stock). I’ve googled a variety of things but I commonly receive results that specifically cater to the purposes of lifting. Granted upgrading suspension will likely mean some lift will be apart of the process by default (I assume) so at best I’d like to try and lift no more than 3”. Are there available lift kits that meet these practical demands? What are some possible ideas I could run with? Should I just count on junk yard finds from other vehicles rather than whole kits?
